I have a maytag maxima. The door may immediately unlock. 1 year old it s a 4 3 cu ft. After 8 minutes the door will unlock.

If the washer will not unlock at the end of a wash cycle unplug the washer or disconnect power. The door locked light is flashing the washer is humming but nothing else is happening.

When the lock light is blinking it typically means that the unit either took to long to fill with water in which case it ll go into flood mode and keep draining for 15 20 minutes. The washer will go into a hold and drain routine for 8 minutes. My maytag front load washer has a blinking door locked and the door will not open up. The washer door will unlock at the end of the drain.
