My maytag neptune washer door will not open. This is a guide about unlocking the door on a maytag front load washer. Door locked at the end of the cycle. Be very careful hacking that door.

I am not sure if it is the exact same washer but we had a neptune and if the wax motor overloaded it blew the main board. If the washer will not unlock at the end of a wash cycle unplug the washer or disconnect power. After the second repair i researched it and had an inline fuse put in the wiring to protect the board if the motor that locks the door overloads. Front loaders have a locking mechanism to avoid opening the door during a washing cycle but occasionally this lock will be activated accidentally.
