To bypass the lid switch disconnect it from the wire harness then put a link in on the timer side of the harness between the 2 gray wires these are the outside wires on the harness.

Pausing the wash cycle is how it can be disabled. Placing a separate magnet there will create a stable electromagnetic connection with the solenoid and trick the machine into thinking that the lid is. A simple bypass for the first type of lid switch is to simply jam a piece of wood into the switch causing it to activate the solenoid. If it does not detect both water supply hoses are turned on the control detects a problem with the water pressure sensor.

The lid switch is inside the control panel if the washer is not spinning or draining then the lid switch is the problem.
